Newborn Portraits in Montgomery County, MD
Gentle, unhurried sessions that capture your baby’s first days — safely, simply, and without the stress.
Simple, Safe Newborn Portraits
Those first days are overwhelming enough without worrying about a photo session. I keep newborn sessions calm, unrushed, and completely led by your baby, no forcing poses, no rushing a tired or fussy moment. Your baby’s safety and comfort always come first; I follow strict cleanliness and handling practices throughout.
Sessions can take place in your home or a simple studio setup, whichever feels most comfortable for your family.
How My Sessions Work
Newborn sessions move at your baby’s pace, not a schedule. Expect:
Plenty of time built in for feeding, soothing, and breaks
A calm, quiet environment — no pressure, no rushing
Safe, gentle posing only — nothing that compromises your baby’s comfort
After the session, I edit and deliver your images in a private online gallery, ready to view, choose favorites from, or download.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best time to book a newborn portrait session is within the first two weeks. But, honesty, anytime is fine, this first two weeks is when your baby is the sleepiest.
-
Sessions can take place either in my home studio in Clarksburg, or, in the comfort of your home. I prefer to photograph in my studio because I know the light there, but I understand it isn’t always possible.
-
My newborn sessions are baby led, so if we need to take a break for feeding or soothing, we just simply take a break!
-
Most newborn sessions take about 1.5 hours. They can take longer if we have multiple outfits or if we need to take breaks, but there is no rush during your session.
-
I love to include mom, dad and any siblings in the photos. These will be your first family portraits so be ready to be in them!
-
You should prepare the outfits that you would like to have everyone photographed in ahead of time. Prepare the diaper bag and any “bribe” treats for the older siblings that you need!
